3 Drug Suspects Yield P163-M ‘Shabu’ in Quezon Province

Quezon: Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives seized about 25 kg. of suspected shabu valued at PHP163.2 million and arrested three male suspects during a buy-bust in Barangay Masin Norte, Candelaria, Quezon on Friday.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a news release issued on Saturday, PDEA-National Capital Region Director Emerson Rosales identified the suspects as alias Jack, 42, and alias Nor, 31, both farmers from Zamboanga City; and alias Anor, 43, a tricycle driver from North Cotabato.

Confiscated from the suspects were one plastic pack of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1 kg., which was the subject of the sale, and 24 more packs weighing about 24 kg. Also recovered were the buy-bust money, one black Toyota Fortuner, two analog phones, one Android phone, and various identification cards.

The seized evidence will be submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic examination. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing inquest proceedings for violating Sections 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
