Manila: The three Baliwag City Police officers involved in a mistaken identity incident have undergone inquest proceedings following the filing of criminal complaints. According to Philippines News Agency, the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) reported that the complaints filed are physical injuries, unjust vexation, grave coercion, slander by deed, and attempted kidnapping. An administrative case is also being prepared by the National Police Commission.

The businessman, based in Barangay Tangos, narrated that he was approached by several individuals who identified themselves as police officers and attempted to drag him into a vehicle. They immediately left when they realized he had been mistaken for another person.

Gen. Jess Mendez said in a statement.

PRO-3 assured the public that it will continue to uphold transparency, professionalism, and accountability by ensuring that all complaints against police personnel are acted upon promptly, fairly, and impartially in accordance with the law and existing PNP policies.
