3 Suspects Yield PHP1.1M Shabu in Albay Buy-Bust

Albay: Operatives from the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) arrested three drug suspects and confiscated over PHP1.1 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cavasi, Ligao City, Albay on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon stated that the operation's primary target was a high-value individual known as 'Jeff,' aged 38, from Oas town. Alongside Jeff, two alleged accomplices identified as 'Ray' and 'Maria,' both residents of Camarines Sur, were apprehended during the operation.

The joint operation, which occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m., led to the seizure of 162 grams of suspected shabu, valued at an estimated PHP1,101,600. Brig. Gen. Dizon emphasized that this operation showcases the ongoing efforts of law enforcement units to dismantle drug syndicates and neutralize high-value targets in the region. He further asserted that operatives are prepared to arrest anyone engaged in the illegal drug trade.

The Special Operations Unit 5 of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, in collaboration with the Ligao City Police Station, the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Albay Police Provincial Office, and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-5, conducted the operation. The suspects are currently in police custody and are set to face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
