3,000 Workers Receive PHP757 Million in Judgment Awards Through NLRC

Manila: The government, through the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), has assisted close to 3,000 aggrieved employees, who were provided with nearly PHP757 million in monetary awards during the third quarter of 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, data from the NLRC's Financial and Management Division (FMD) showed that PHP756,909,734 was distributed to 2,907 worker-complainants from July to September. The amount was sourced from respondent-companies found liable or ordered by the commission to pay monetary claims of workers in cases such as illegal dismissal, underpayment of wages, non-payment of benefits, and other violations of labor standards laws.

The commission assured that all judgment award releases were carried out in strict compliance with existing financial rules and procedures to ensure transparency, timely payment, and accountability in the disbursement of funds to affected workers. The NLRC, an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), emphasized that the accomplishment underscores the Marcos administration's active role in protecting workers' rights and in ensuring the prompt enforcement of labor judgments.

It is also in line with the DOLE's mandate to administer labor laws fairly and expeditiously, and supports the Marcos administration's thrust to uphold workers' rights and promote industrial peace through efficient, transparent, and responsive public service. At the same time, the commission reminded workers and employers to transact only with authorized NLRC offices and to steer clear of fixers and ambulance chasers when processing monetary claims or enforcing labor decisions.
