4 International Passengers Nabbed with PHP62-M Marijuana at NAIA

Manila: Four passengers were apprehended on Thursday by the Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) after their pieces of luggage were found to have suspected marijuana worth over PHP62 million.

According to Philippines News Agency, the passengers arrived at the NAIA Terminal 3 from Bangkok, Thailand. They were stopped after authorities found suspicious findings observed during X-ray screening and K9 inspection conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on their eight pieces of luggage.

The illegal drugs weighing around 41.55 kilograms were discovered during physical examination. Further examination is ongoing, with the BOC, PDEA, Bureau of Immigration, and other law enforcement agencies present.
