Manila: Most areas in the country will experience rains on Wednesday due to four prevailing weather systems.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated that the shear line and the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in regions including Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms brought by the intertropical convergence zone are expected to prevail in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi. The northeast monsoon, known locally as "amihan," will bring rains across Batanes, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.
Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could potentially lead to flash floods or landslides. Isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon will dampen Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, most parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country is expected to experience isolated rain showers due to the easterlies. PAGASA also noted that as of 2 a.m., no low-pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
