Manila: The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) arrested 40 individuals for various violations of the cybercrime law during operations conducted from August 22 to 28.
According to Philippines News Agency, the ACG report, which was posted on Sunday, detailed that 34 of those arrested were caught in entrapment operations, while six were wanted individuals tracked down in separate anti-cybercrime efforts.
The operations resulted in convictions for eight suspects. Additionally, the weeklong initiative led to the service of 12 cyber warrants and the filing of 51 cases.
Throughout the operation period, PNP-ACG carried out 288 cyber patrols and conducted 16 digital forensic examinations.
