The NGCP reported that '85 percent of the Leyte-Samar sub-grid has been restored,' and power transmission services in the rest of the Visayas grid are under normal operations.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin stated that all energy sector stakeholders are working together to expedite power restoration in Cebu and other affected areas, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive. The Department of Energy (DOE) emphasized that priority is being given to vital establishments such as hospitals and water stations. Technical teams are securing power supply for these facilities, with mobile generator sets prepared to provide backup electricity for essential services during ongoing restoration efforts.
