50 Arrested Suspects Yield P6-M Illegal Drugs in Bicol

Legazpi city: Police arrested 50 drug suspects and seized from them illegal drugs worth more than PHP6 million during anti-drug operations from July 7 to 13. Police Regional Office-Bicol spokesperson Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib reported the success of the operations, which were aimed at curbing the drug menace in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, a total of 36 anti-drug operations were conducted, yielding a significant haul of 888.53 grams of shabu and nine grams of marijuana. These operations included buy-bust activities, the service of warrants, and other proactive police interventions, specifically targeting both high-value and street-level drug personalities.

The operations resulted in the apprehension of 12 high-value individuals, 30 street-level individuals, and eight newly identified drug personalities. Albay recorded the largest amount of confiscated drugs, with an estimated value of PHP2.56 million, followed by Camarines Norte with PHP1.98 million, and Camarines Sur with PHP1.31 million.

Further, Sorsogon contributed PHP124,000 worth of confiscated drugs, Naga City Police Office reported PHP35,700, and both Masbate and Catanduanes added to the week's accomplishments with confiscations valued at PHP13,600 and PHP4,080, respectively.
