63 Hired, PHP3.6 Million Aid Released at DOLE-Caraga Anniversary Fair

Butuan city: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) celebrated its 92nd anniversary with a job fair at Robinsons Mall, where 63 applicants were hired on the spot, and PHP3.6 million in business aid was distributed. The fair attracted numerous job seekers from the Caraga Region, with 25 employers offering a total of 4,659 local and overseas job vacancies.

According to Philippines News Agency, the job fair was a significant opportunity for many, including Niel Bryan Granada from Trento, Agusan del Sur, who had been jobless for over a year. Granada found employment as a sales promoter after discovering the event through a Facebook post by DOLE-Caraga.

In addition to job placements, DOLE-Caraga provided financial support to local enterprises. Nine micro, small, and medium enterprises received PHP400,000 each to help enhance their business ventures. Furthermore, the event included a separate payout of PHP430,650, which was distributed to 99 beneficiaries of the TUPAD emergency employment program, aimed at assisting disadvantaged and displaced workers.
