Antique: The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has successfully registered 700 individuals from the island municipality of Caluya in Antique during the initial phase of the Konsultasyong Sulit Tama (Konsulta) service delivery caravan. This event, aimed at increasing healthcare access, took place over five days from May 26 to May 30.
According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth Antique Social Insurance Assistant I and Konsulta point person Liza Joyce Songcayawon shared in an interview on Tuesday that the event facilitated onsite registration for non-PhilHealth members, alongside updates of existing records, health screenings, and assessments. The registrants also experienced their first patient encounter with the service provider, Caluya Primary Care Facility, and received prescribed medications.
During the caravan, PhilHealth also distributed member data records and identification cards, Songcayawon noted. Caluya was strategically chosen to launch the caravan, as only about 54 percent of its 60,000 residents are enrolled with PhilHealth.
The service delivery caravan will continue its journey to the municipalities of Tibiao, Bugasong, Laua-an, Patnongon, and Sibalom in June. As of April 30, 340,685 individuals, or 53.55 percent of the projected 636,223 population of Antique, have registered with Konsulta. Meanwhile, approximately 521,017 individuals are PhilHealth members.
