Afghan Bus Crash Leaves 76 Dead, Including Repatriated Migrants

Herat: At least 76 people, including several children, were killed in western Afghanistan when a passenger bus carrying repatriated migrants from Iran collided with a truck and a motorcycle. Official media reported the tragic incident on Wednesday, highlighting the severe casualties resulting from the crash.

According to Philippines News Agency, the collision occurred on the Herat-Islam Qala highway in Herat province late Tuesday. The impact of the crash caused the bus to catch fire, compounding the devastation of the accident.

Local interim Taliban officials have confirmed the death toll, stating that 76 passengers lost their lives in the accident. Additionally, three others who were injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Afghanistan in ensuring the safety of its transportation networks.
