Manila: Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines reported strong performance on Wednesday, registering an average of 85 percent load factor for the first months of 2025, and hitting almost three million passengers for the first half, including forward bookings. Airline spokesperson Steve Dailisan highlighted that 80 percent of the load factor comprised domestic travelers, with Puerto Princesa emerging as the top local destination.
According to Philippines News Agency, this robust performance aligns with a positive trajectory for local tourism. Dailisan emphasized AirAsia's commitment to supporting this growth through initiatives like the AirAsia Fiesta Series and promotional campaigns tied to local festivals, which aim to encourage Filipinos to engage in cultural festivities across the country.
On the international front, Taipei has become the preferred destination for AirAsia's travelers. In response, starting July 1, AirAsia will increase its services to Taipei from 14 to 17 times weekly. This expansion is intended to enhance connectivity and offer greater flexibility for both leisure and business travelers.
To further attract passengers, AirAsia has introduced a seat sale campaign, offering one-way base fares for as low as PHP185. The sale runs until June 1, allowing travelers to book trips for travel until October 31, as stated by AirAsia.
