Manila: The northeast monsoon, locally known as 'amihan', along with easterlies, is set to influence weather patterns across the Philippines on Christmas Eve, as reported by the national weather bureau on Wednesday. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced in its 4 a.m. bulletin that regions such as Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies accompanied by light rains due to the effects of the amihan. Meanwhile, areas including the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the remaining parts of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will witness partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains attributed to the northeast monsoon. The Bicol Region and Quezon are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms as a result of the easterlies. Furthermore, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are likely to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isola ted rain showers or thunderstorms due to the prevailing easterlies. Regions in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern section of Southern Luzon are anticipated to face moderate to strong northeast winds, leading to moderate to rough sea conditions. In contrast, the rest of the Philippine archipelago is expected to have light to moderate northeast winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
