Antique 4Ps Beneficiaries Encouraged to Apply for Electricity Subsidy

Antique: Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Antique are now being encouraged to take advantage of subsidies offered under the Department of Energy's lifeline rate program. This initiative is being facilitated in collaboration with the Antique Electric Cooperative (Anteco), the province's exclusive power distributor.

According to Philippines News Agency, Jeffrey Gabucay, who serves as the Antique Pantawid Provincial Link officer, stated that efforts are underway to assist 4Ps households in applying for the program to alleviate their monthly electricity costs. He emphasized that those beneficiaries who have not yet availed themselves of the subsidy should submit their latest electric bill or a certification if they are sharing electricity with another household. These documents can then be forwarded to Anteco for processing.

Gabucay highlighted that Antique has the largest number of 4Ps enrollees in the lifeline rate program within the Western Visayas region. He also mentioned that 4Ps households in regions served by the Aklan Electric Cooperative, including the island municipality of Caluya, are receiving similar assistance for their applications.

Anteco General Manager Neal Peter Ve±egas has urged more 4Ps members to apply for the program. He explained that households consuming 15 kilowatt hours (kWh) or less per month are eligible for a 7 percent discount, while those using between 16 kWh to 20 kWh can benefit from a 5 percent discount. Anteco's electricity rate for May was noted as PHP12.82 per kWh.
