San jose de buenavista: Fifteen local government units (LGUs) in Antique have joined this year's Binirayan Festival's 'Pasundayag' (presentation) to showcase their best agricultural products. Governor Paolo Everardo Javier led the opening of the trade fair at the Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park, which followed the switching of lights to welcome the Christmas season and the start of the month-long Binirayan Festival in the province on Monday evening.
According to Philippines News Agency, the 15 booths are displaying their best agricultural and agri by-products as a way of promoting them during the Binirayan Festival, Noralyn Setias, Supervising Agriculturist at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), said in an interview on Tuesday. The booths are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 1-22 and Dec. 26-29.
Among the products on display are Sibalom's Robusta coffee, which earned the fine grade classification in the 2021 Philippine Coffee Quality Competition, and Don Tikyo Rum, which was awarded the best product collection at the Department of Trade and Industry's 2025 Panublion Regional Trade Fair. There are also fresh vegetables, such as string beans, papaya, eggplant, and many others that are on display at the booths, Setias said.
Meanwhile, the best booth that will be judged based on creativity and originality, and light decorations, will bring home PHP200,000. The second place will receive PHP150,000, and the third, PHP100,000. Other LGU booths will have consolation prizes of PHP50,000 each to replenish their expenses.
