Antique: The Antique Provincial Athletic Association Meet will introduce three new sports-wushu, weightlifting, and wrestling-when it takes place from December 4 to 7.

According to Philippines News Agency, Department of Education Sports Officer Dr. Oliver Servillon announced the introduction of these new events on Friday, increasing the total number of sports events to 25. Previously, the meet included only 22 sports events. Servillon highlighted that the availability of coaches for the new disciplines facilitated the addition.

The provincial government has allocated PHP4 million for this event. This funding will cover expenses such as food, honoraria, and uniforms for the participants. Dr. Servillon emphasized the importance of continued training for athletes, as the meet will also serve as a qualifier for the 2026 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Passi City, Iloilo.
