Aurora: Police intercepted an illegal shipment of lumber and arrested a suspect during a routine patrol along the National Highway in Barangay Nonong Sr. on Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Aurora Provincial Police Office reported that the San Luis Municipal Police Station flagged down a vehicle without a license plate loaded with lumber after its occupants attempted to evade inspection.
The driver was identified as alias 'RR,' 23, from Baler, Aurora. A minor, identified as alias 'Apeng,' was also in the vehicle.
Police said the suspects failed to present a Permit to Transport Lumber, and the materials bore no Department of Environment and Natural Resources markings, violating the Forestry Code of the Philippines.
