Bacolod City: The city government has initiated the construction of key emergency facilities on a plot of land donated by Rockwell Land Corp., led by the Lopez family, in Barangay Mandalagan.
According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Rockwell Land CEO Nestor Padilla signed the deed of donation for the 2,130 square meter land in the presence of Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya and other city officials. The land, situated within Rockwell Center Bacolod along Buri Road, will house the Mandalagan Fire Sub-Station, Police Station 3, and a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Command Center.
The construction of Police Station 3 will have a PHP20 million budget, with PHP10 million facilitated for release by Senator Francis Tolentino's office for implementation by the Department of Public Works and Highways. Padilla pledged a PHP10 million counterpart from Rockwell Land to support the project.
Mayor Benitez expressed gratitude to Rockwell for their role in this development, emphasizing the potential of Bacolod City to evolve with the help of committed partners who share the vision of becoming a super city.
