BARMM Distributes 50 Housing Units to Indigent Families in Maguindanao

Sultan sa Barongis: The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has strengthened its initiatives aimed at supporting impoverished communities by providing 50 housing units to vulnerable families in Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Norte. This effort was highlighted by officials on Wednesday. According to Philippines News Agency, Abdul Mohaimin Pasigan, a staff member of the BARMM's Office of the Chief Minister, emphasized the government's dedication to enhancing living conditions for its citizens. Pasigan, representing BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, alongside Engr. Anwarodin Tumagantang, who oversees the Kapayapaan Sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) Project, spearheaded the ceremonial handing over of the housing units in Barangay Masulot on Tuesday afternoon. KAPYANAN is a primary initiative of the Office of the Chief Minister focused on delivering adequate housing to the most impoverished families, including internally displaced individuals, former Moro rebels, Indigenous peoples, and other mar ginalized communities. During the turnover ceremony, recipient Teng Sandigan expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you, BARMM government. I thought you had forgotten us. I was wrong," during an interview with the BARMM Information Office (BIO). The housing units, each measuring seven by seven meters, are equipped with a kitchen, living area, comfort room, three bedrooms, and a small balcony. They also come with electricity and water systems. To secure legal ownership, the recipients received Certificates of Ownership and Certificates of Agreement from KAPYANAN. Pasigan also noted that additional housing units would be distributed to indigent families throughout the region in the coming days.
