BARMM Honors Commitment of Rural Physicians Serving Indigent Communities.

COTABATO CITY: The Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM) on Wednesday commended physicians for their commitment to providing healthcare in underserved areas, where they serve residents who have limited access to medical services. "The Ministry of Health honors the dedication and hard work of all our Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB). We are grateful for the sacrifices of our 23 rural health physicians (RHPs) for sharing their time and expertise to uplift rural healthcare in Bangsamoro," Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr., BARMM health minister, said in a statement Wednesday. According to Philippines News Agency, Sinolinding highlighted the impact these physicians have on community health outcomes in the region, noting their contributions in the face of opportunities for higher pay in private practice. On Monday, DTTB Batch 39, known as "Sinagtala," held an exit conference in Davao City to celebrate the commitment of RHPs nationwide who are nearing the end of their three-yea r assignments. Two BARMM physicians, Drs. Raymond Flores and Sahed Arvin Sukarno, were recognized with the "Most Outstanding Doctors to the Barrios" award for their exemplary service in Maguindanao del Sur. Flores and Sukarno serve in Mangudadatu and Pandag towns, respectively. Sinolinding expressed his appreciation to the Department of Health Central Office for supporting health deployment programs, which aim to improve access to quality healthcare in marginalized communities, enhance health outcomes, and support sustainable development goals related to health equity.
