Baybay City Unveils QR Code-Based Feedback System for Tourists

Baybay city: The Baybay City government has launched the 'Quality Visitor Experience Initiative,' a QR code-based feedback system designed to allow tourists and visitors to rate tourism-related establishments and services within the city.

According to Philippines News Agency, this initiative, the first of its kind in Eastern Visayas, enables visitors to evaluate establishments on hospitality, efficiency, cleanliness, and overall customer experience. The platform also offers users the opportunity to submit complaints, suggestions, and recommendations regarding services offered by tourism-related facilities.

Josefina Granada-Gutierrez, the Baybay City Tourism Officer, stated that the QR code evaluation system is part of the city's broader feedback and service assessment mechanism. This initiative aims to promote, monitor, and sustain high standards of customer service across the local tourism industry. 'This is intended to inspire and encourage our establishments to continuously improve their services and the way they engage with visitors and tourists,' Gutierrez mentioned during the launch.

She further added that the city government plans to recognize top-performing tourism establishments in December based on ratings and evaluations submitted through the QR code platform. 'We want tourists and clients themselves to tell us which establishments are providing excellent service. This will help us identify areas for improvement and strengthen the tourism industry in Baybay City,' she said.

Gutierrez assured the public that personal information provided by respondents will remain confidential and emphasized that the city welcomes constructive feedback. 'Positive feedback is important, but constructive criticism is equally valuable because it helps us identify where improvements can be made and how we can do better,' she added.

Mayor Jose Carlos Cari commented on the initiative, stating that establishments receiving unfavorable feedback would also receive assistance from the city government to help improve their services. 'Those who receive poor feedback will not be left behind. We will assist them because we want all establishments in Baybay City to provide quality service,' he said.

To qualify for recognition under the program, establishments must be accredited by the Department of Tourism. Tourism data indicated that Baybay City recorded 520,206 visitors to its pilgrimage sites in 2025, with the Shrine of St. Anthony de Padua and the 18th-century Immaculate Conception Parish being the most visited sites.

The city also documented 360,461 day-tour arrivals at its various tourist attractions during the same period. Notably, three Baybay City destinations - Lintaon Peak, Eastern Clouds of Baybay, and Aya's Hill - ranked among the 10 most-visited tourist attractions in Eastern Visayas last year.

This feedback mechanism launch follows Baybay City's recognition as the sole recipient from Eastern Visayas of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Government Partner Award at the national FBSE Summit last year.
