Manila: Over 15.6 million passenger arrivals nationwide were recorded in 2025, the Bureau of Immigration reported Thursday. In a statement, Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado announced that immigration officers at all international ports of entry documented 15,608,868 arrivals, including 6,704,007 foreign nationals, from January to December 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, the figures indicate an almost 6 percent increase compared to the 14,733,597 arrivals recorded in 2024. Commissioner Viado emphasized the ongoing efforts to modernize immigration processes, which include expanding automated systems, upgrading facilities, and strengthening manpower to ensure faster, more secure, and more convenient services for travelers.

Viado stated, "We are aggressively modernizing our immigration processes -expanding automated systems, upgrading facilities, and strengthening our manpower- to ensure faster, more secure, and more convenient immigration services for travelers." He highlighted that these reforms are crucial for facilitating legitimate travel for tourists and other travelers.

The commissioner also pledged to continue aligning the Bureau of Immigration's programs with the national government's push for digitalization and efficient public service delivery. At the same time, he assured the public of maintaining vigilance against transnational crimes and travel-related abuses.
