Makati: The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will initiate a deportation case against Cao Cheng, the alleged importer linked to contractor couple Pacifico "Curlee" and Cezarah Rowena "Sarah" Discaya's luxury vehicles.

According to Philippines News Agency, Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado disclosed that they received information from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief, Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, regarding Cao's arrest for multiple violations. These include obstruction of apprehension and prosecution of a criminal offender, illegal use of an alias, false representation, and willful misrepresentation of material information on November 27 in Makati.

He is currently detained at the Special Operations Division, Highway Patrol Group, located in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The BI chief further revealed that the LTO provided documentation indicating that Cao, purportedly the owner of ACH High-End Motor Center, misrepresented himself by using the name Martin Zhao in his LTO records.

The use of a false identity, as emphasized by the BI chief, suggests that a foreign national is undesirable and should not be permitted to remain in the country.

"He was found to have fraudulently acquired documentation using a different name, and this is a clear case of misrepresentation," Viado stated.

"No foreign national should use fictitious identities in transactions in the Philippines," he added.

Cao is scheduled to be transferred to the BI's facility in Taguig City following an inquest and medical examination. If found guilty, he will face deportation and blacklisting.

In addition to the BI's actions, the LTO has also coordinated with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to verify whether the luxury cars sold by Cao's company were legally imported.
