Bicol Cops Seize P2.2-M Illegal Drugs in Weeklong Ops

Bicol: Police in Bicol seized PHP2.2 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 23 suspects from July 14 to 20. Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr., in a report on Tuesday, said the 24 anti-illegal drug operations resulted in the confiscation of 326.85 grams of shabu and three grams of marijuana.

According to Philippines News Agency, among the provinces, Camarines Sur recorded the biggest drug seizure with PHP1.33 million; Albay with PHP152,524; Masbate with PHP115,668; Camarines Norte with PHP63,049.60, and Sorsogon with PHP1,020. Catanduanes reported no seizures during the period. About PHP559,300 worth of illegal drugs was seized in Naga City.

"We will further intensify our operations and strengthen our collaboration with stakeholders to ensure safer, healthier, and drug-free communities for the people of Bicol. Together, we can achieve a region free from the scourge of illegal drugs," he said.
