Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) confiscated more than PHP5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 37 individuals from February 17 to 23 operations in the six provinces and one component city in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon reported that a total of 33 operations during the period resulted in the confiscation of 745.02 grams of shabu and 3.97 grams of marijuana. Among the provinces and cities, Naga City recorded the highest volume of confiscation with PHP3,515,720; followed by Camarines Sur with PHP629,734.40; Albay with PHP382,221.20; Masbate with PHP319,772.80; Camarines Norte with PHP106,284; Catanduanes with PHP102,680; and Sorsogon with PHP10,200.

Dizon commended the operating teams in the fight against illegal drugs, emphasizing their dedication to maintaining peace and order in the Bicol region. He urged the public to remain vigilant and support the campaign by reporting any suspicious drug-related activities to create a safer and drug-free community.

Meanwhile, Dizon attended a ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement with Radyo Pilipinas Albay to strengthen the organization and program for disseminating information about the current administration's aspirations for Bagong Pilipinas (new Philippines). As part of the agreement, the PRO5 has been allotted airtime on the radio program, which airs every Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on DWJS Radyo Pilipinas Albay.

Several other government agencies joined the initiative by signing their respective MOAs during the event. These include the Civil Service Commission, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Office of Civil Defense, Albay Electric Cooperative, Department of Education, and the Social Security System.
