Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has exceeded its targets for crime clearance and solution efficiency in the first quarter of 2026. PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda announced that the office achieved a 91.97 percent crime clearance efficiency (CCE) and an 83.48 percent crime solution efficiency (CSE), surpassing the General Appropriations Act (GAA) targets of 81.95 percent for CCE and 76.46 percent for CSE.

According to Philippines News Agency, the success was attributed to improved operational coordination, sustained execution of Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), comprehensive case reviews, and ongoing capability development among investigators. From January to March, 5,769 incidents were reported, with 5,306 cases cleared and 4,816 cases solved.

A case is considered solved when the offender is identified, sufficient evidence is gathered, the offender is apprehended, and charges are filed in court. A case is cleared when at least one suspect is identified, sufficient evidence is available to charge the suspect, and the case is filed with the prosecutor's office or court.

Brig. Gen. Miranda emphasized that the achievements were made possible with the steadfast support of partner communities, committing to continued swift case resolutions and high-quality police service to reinforce public trust and ensure safer communities. He acknowledged the contribution of every Bicolano in reaching this milestone and assured that PRO-5 will maintain its dedication to keeping Bicol safe and secure.
