BIR Launches Nationwide Electronic Tax Clearance System

Manila: The Bureau of Internal Revenue's electronic tax clearance system (eTCS) is now available nationwide.

According to Philippines News Agency, the eTCS is accessible to taxpayers registered under Revenue Regions Nos. 1 to 19, following the guidelines set by Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 76-2026. This web-based system provides taxpayers the ability to apply for, pay, and download their Tax Clearance Certificate online.

The eTCS aims to simplify the tax clearance application process by enabling taxpayers to register, submit necessary documents, track their application status, pay certification and documentary stamp fees, and download their Tax Clearance Certificates, all online. It supports applications for various tax clearances, such as Tax Clearance for Bidding Purposes and General Purposes, as well as Tax Compliance Verification Certificates and Delinquency Verification Reports, adhering to the requirements outlined by the Bureau.

The Bureau stated that this initiative is part of its DARES reform agenda, which focuses on Digital and Data Transformation, Audit Reform and Accountability, Revenue Collection and Base Protection, Employee Empowerment and Welfare Promotion, and Service Excellence and Stakeholder Engagement. This reform aims to enhance digital services, simplify tax compliance, and offer faster, more accessible tax clearance services.

Taxpayer-applicants are encouraged to consult the eTCS user's manual, which can be found on the eTCS homepage.
