BIR’s Interactive Digital Tax Calendar Bags International Award

Singapore: The Bureau of Internal Revenue's (BIR) 2026 BIR Interactive Digital Tax Calendar won the Philippines Digital Initiative of the Year - Finance Award at the GovMedia Conference and Awards at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore on Thursday. The bureau said Friday the GovMedia Conference and Awards recognizes outstanding government projects and initiatives across Asia that demonstrate excellence in digital transformation, innovation, governance, sustainability and citizen-centric public service.

According to Philippines News Agency, all entries undergo independent evaluation by a panel of industry experts based on their innovation, impact and contribution to public-sector excellence. "To our BIR revenuers, who work on our digital projects and assist our taxpayers on the front lines, this award is yours," BIR Commissioner Charlito Mendoza said in his acceptance speech. "To our taxpayers: This Interactive Digital Tax Calendar, together with every digital project and streamlining initiative we have rolled out, is for you-to make your tax compliance easier, our rules clearer, and your transactions with the BIR faster and simpler," he added.

The Interactive Digital Tax Calendar is an in-house-developed digital platform that transformed the BIR's traditional printed tax calendar into an interactive online resource. It allows taxpayers to conveniently access tax deadlines, filing requirements and compliance information in one place. Mendoza said the BIR will continue to develop digital innovations that will improve the taxpayer experience, simplify tax compliance and support the government's digital transformation agenda.

"We will continue to do this work in support of the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for a more modern and more responsive government," Mendoza said.
