Iligan city: The local government of Iligan City is targeting the completion of a PHP4.1 million school building within 170 days, as part of its continuing efforts to address classroom shortages and improve educational facilities in the city. The City Engineering Office received a directive to begin construction of the two-story building for Suarez Central School in Barangay Suarez by next week.

According to Philippines News Agency, the project's scope includes earthworks, masonry, carpentry, and electrical and plumbing installations. The building's water and sewer pipelines and structural integrity also require passing standard checks.

During a recent school feeding program ceremony at Sta. Filomena Central School, Mayor Frederick Siao emphasized that his administration is prioritizing education by helping public schools secure additional funding for classrooms and buildings. He remarked, "Despite our busy schedules, meeting them face-to-face updates us on what truly matters, providing real, everyday relief to every Iliganon family."
