Brooke's point: Personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Brooke's Point District Jail conducted a river cleanup drive at the spillway area of Barangay Pangobilian as part of the Bureau's environmental protection efforts.
According to Philippines News Agency, the activity, led by acting District Jail Warden Jail Senior Inspector Santiago Bumolyad Jr., aimed to maintain the cleanliness of local waterways by removing assorted trash and debris along the riverbanks. BJMP Mimaropa spokesperson Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo stated that the initiative supports the bureau's advocacy to promote environmental awareness, community involvement, and volunteerism among jail personnel.
"This activity not only contributes to the preservation of a clean and healthy ecosystem but also reaffirms the BJMP's commitment to community service and environmental stewardship," Anglo said in a news release. He added that BJMP Mimaropa continues to implement similar outreach and environmental programs across the region as part of its broader goal of fostering sustainable and responsible community initiatives.
