Manila: The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in the Mimaropa Region participated in the annual 'Brigada Eskwela' initiative, assisting public schools in the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan in preparation for the upcoming school year.
According to Philippines News Agency, Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo, information officer of BJMP-Mimaropa, emphasized that the bureau's involvement is part of its commitment to community service and support for education. "Our participation in Brigada Eskwela reflects our dedication to ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for students as they return to school," Anglo said in a news release on Monday.
The BJMP personnel helped in cleaning classrooms, repairing facilities, and organizing learning materials, to assist schools in their readiness for the school opening on June 16.
