BOYNEXTDOOR to Perform in FIVB Men’s World Championship Opening

Manila: South Korean boy band BOYNEXTDOOR will entertain Filipino fans at the opening day of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Sept. 12.

According to Philippines News Agency, Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) president Ramon "Tats" Suzara announced that the event will be a historic night for both world volleyball and the Philippines. With 50 days left before the country's first-time hosting of the 32-nation FIVB MWCH, Suzara stated that all systems are rolling, with tickets for the opening ceremony night now selling briskly online through the world championships' official website.

Suzara emphasized that this will be an unprecedented opening ceremony for the world championships, characterized by a concert-like atmosphere featuring BOYNEXTDOOR. The Philippines will begin its campaign against Tunisia at 5 p.m., followed by a festive and grand opening ceremony at the SM MOA Arena, which is expected to be packed to capacity.

Tickets for the opening night are priced at PHP14,000 for patron (center) and PHP12,500 for patron (back), with varying prices for other sections of the arena. BOYNEXTDOOR's members Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak will perform their most popular acts as global celebrity ambassadors of the FIVB MWCH, scheduled from Sept. 12 to 28 at the SM MOA Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Suzara noted that the selection of BOYNEXTDOOR is a strategic move to elevate the global profile of volleyball and to generate excitement for the event. The championship, proudly hosted in the Philippines, presents an incredible opportunity to engage fans worldwide, leveraging BOYNEXTDOOR's unique appeal and dynamic global influence to attract a broader audience.

The PNVF and the Local Organizing Committee, co-chaired by Presidential son William Vincent 'Vinny' Araneta Marcos, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, believe that BOYNEXTDOOR's involvement will encourage increased participation and viewership both locally and internationally. Suzara concluded that by unifying the worlds of sports and entertainment, the event aims to spark greater interest in volleyball, promote cultural exchange, and boost the local economy through tourism and international engagement.
