Brooke's point: The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Brooke's Point District Jail has recorded zero positive results in a random drug testing activity conducted among persons deprived of liberty (PDL), reinforcing the facility's commitment to maintaining a drug-free and secure jail environment.

According to Philippines News Agency, a total of 60 PDL were randomly selected and subjected to drug testing as part of the BJMP's continuing campaign against illegal drugs and its efforts to promote discipline, accountability, and healthy living inside jail facilities. The activity, conducted without prior notice, underscored the jail administration's adherence to transparency and fairness in the implementation of jail management and rehabilitation programs.

BJMP Mimaropa spokesperson Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo stated that all individuals tested yielded negative results, reflecting the effectiveness of the jail unit's sustained monitoring, rehabilitation initiatives, and regular information drives against the use of illegal drugs. 'The zero positive result shows that our consistent enforcement of anti-illegal drug policies, coupled with reformation programs, is producing positive outcomes among persons deprived of liberty,' Anglo said in a news release on Monday.

He added that random drug testing remains a vital component of the BJMP Mimaropa's broader strategy to ensure safety and order within jail facilities while supporting the moral recovery and well-being of PDL. The BJMP Mimaropa reaffirmed its commitment to uphold a secure, orderly, and drug-free jail facility, in line with the bureau's mandate of ensuring safe custody, humane treatment, and effective reformation of persons deprived of liberty.
