C. Luzon Police Deploys 2K ‘Night Patrollers’ to Boost Public Safety

Central Luzon: Over 2,000 policemen have been deployed across Central Luzon to enhance public safety, prevent criminality, and ensure strong police presence at night. In a statement on Thursday, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo emphasized that the "night patrollers" are strategically positioned as part of the Philippine National Police's broader campaign to uphold peace and order in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, these operations are a direct response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call for a safer and more disciplined society. Fajardo stated that the focus is on high-risk areas, with an emphasis on maximizing capabilities to keep communities secure, highlighting that public safety remains the top priority.

The 'Cops On the Beat' program was recently launched by President Marcos to boost police visibility in communities. Starting Wednesday night, night patrollers were mobilized across urban centers, provincial capitals, commercial districts, transport terminals, and other densely populated areas. The teams consist of personnel from various Police Provincial Offices and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

Fajardo outlined that these patrol teams are tasked with safeguarding travelers, motorists, and the general public during nighttime hours. Their mission includes deterring crime, maintaining order, and ensuring rapid response to any security threats.

To enhance their operations, advanced tools such as updated crime mapping, time-based incident analysis, and predictive policing strategies are being utilized. Fajardo mentioned that patrol teams' presence is intensified particularly in urban hubs, commercial zones, and major thoroughfares to ensure public safety and facilitate swift action in case of emergencies.

Fajardo assured the public that police personnel remain on high alert 24/7, committed to protecting lives, property, and maintaining peace and order throughout Central Luzon.
