Central luzon: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) has ramped up its internal cleansing campaign, recording a marked rise in resolved administrative cases as part of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) push for accountability and modernization.
According to Philippines News Agency, from June 19 to Aug. 20, the PRO-3 disposed of 67 administrative cases under the leadership of regional director, Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Pe±ones Jr. This is a significant increase from the 38 cases recorded between Jan. 9 and June 18.
During the recent period, 74 personnel were disciplined: 39 were dismissed from the service, three were demoted, 29 were suspended, and three were reprimanded. Of those sanctioned, five were Police Commissioned Officers. The initiative reflects the PNP's strengthened internal cleansing drive nationwide.
According to PNP Chief, Gen. Nicolas D. Torre III, more than 3,400 personnel across the country have faced disciplinary action in the past year alone.
In a statement, Pe±ones emphasized that the crackdown is not solely about enforcing discipline but also about uplifting the morale and unity of the force. 'Our intensified internal cleansing is not merely about discipline, but about building unity and morale within our ranks. This ensures we perform our duties with integrity and credibility, fundamentally reinforcing the trust and confidence of the people we serve,' he said.
The PRO-3 pledged to sustain the momentum of its internal reforms in full alignment with Torre's vision of a disciplined, accountable, and morally resilient police service.
