CAAP: All Safe After Plane’s Technical Issue at Siquijor Airport

Siquijor: All passengers and crew are safe after an aircraft encountered a technical issue at Siquijor Airport on Monday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

According to Philippines News Agency, as of this writing, CAAP has yet to receive the passenger count for Sunlight Air Flight RLB 876 coming from Mactan, Cebu. The plane "experienced a nose landing gear tire deflation during landing," CAAP reported.

"The aircraft deviated from the runway centerline and came to a stop on the runway," the statement added. In a statement, CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario mentioned that the incident is currently under assessment.

"We have activated the standard airport safety and recovery procedures," del Rosario stated.
