Romblon: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) recently announced the resumption of commercial flights at Romblon Airport, marking a significant step towards enhancing regional air connectivity.

According to Philippines News Agency, boutique airline Sunlight Air has commenced twice-weekly flights to Tablas, Romblon, from Clark International Airport, with services operating every Tuesday and Saturday since August 11. This marks the first time commercial flights have run to Romblon since services were halted last year.

Currently, Sunlight Air is the sole airline providing flights to the province. CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio emphasized the collaborative efforts made to restart these services, highlighting the comprehensive operational, safety, and security measures put in place to ensure smooth operations.

CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario expressed a commitment to working closely with airline partners and stakeholders. 'CAAP will continue to work with our airline partners and stakeholders to make connectivity safer, more efficient, and more accessible to the Filipino people,' he stated in a news release.
