Camiguin Unveils Task Force to Combat Violence and Public Disturbance

Camiguin: The Camiguin provincial government has launched a task force aimed at enhancing community response to violence and public disturbances. This initiative, unveiled on Friday, marks a significant step towards ensuring public safety during events across the province.

According to Philippines News Agency, the newly established Task Force Disiplina is set to implement Standard Security Plans for Barangay Public Events. These plans, communicated to the province's five municipalities and their barangays, emphasize a "Zero Tolerance Against Violence and Public Disturbances" policy. The task force's mandate covers town or barangay fiestas and other major public festivities and events.

The task force is composed of local government implementers, working in collaboration with the police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard, through their respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices. A comprehensive security plan is in development to bolster the task force's organizational framework for ensuring public security and safety.

Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo emphasized the province's dedication to maintaining peace and order. His leadership role as the chair of the Regional Peace and Order Council for Northern Mindanao (RPOC-10) further underscores this commitment. "It is a continuing responsibility of the RPOC-10 to ensure Northern Mindanao remains focused, coordinated, and responsive," Romualdo stated.
