In his homily during the Fiesta Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the Manila Cathedral, the cardinal encouraged those experiencing adversity not to lose hope and to seek the intercession of the Holy Mother.

According to Philippines News Agency, Cardinal Advincula highlighted that amidst ongoing trials and challenges in both personal lives and as a nation, Mary serves as a testament to the victory of God's grace over evil and sin. He described Mary as a guiding star, whose unwavering faith and consistent presence provide a beacon of hope, even when life appears uncertain or stormy.

The cardinal further encouraged believers to emulate the humility of the Virgin Mary, noting that she does not seek attention. He emphasized that true devotion to Mary aims to bring individuals closer to Christ, portraying her as a star whose gentle light guides others. He remarked on her humility, stating that true greatness lies in her ability to direct focus toward Jesus rather than herself.

Archbishop Advincula concluded by reminding the faithful to view Mother Mary as the 'light of the way' in their spiritual journey.
