Manila: A Catholic group on Friday launched a 9 a.m. prayer campaign against corruption and encouraged the people to support the endeavor.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Catholic Advocates for Responsible Electorate (CARE) announced that participants in the drive will be called 'prayer warriors'. "This nationwide initiative will unite believers and pressure government officials to launch a full investigation into alleged corruption in the Philippines' flood control projects," the group stated.

The movement utilizes the rosary as a symbol of unity, transforming spiritual practice into actionable advocacy for communities impacted by substandard infrastructure and delayed flood mitigation efforts. Prayer warriors are encouraged to sign up via a dedicated Google form and will receive a custom rosary baller and an anti-corruption-themed chaplet.

The prayer set every 9 a.m. has three core demands: justice for flood-affected families, accountability for corrupt officials, and ethical governance for the nation. "Parish communities are encouraged to host small, public gathering spots, such as parish courtyards or church community centers, for in-person prayer circles," the group elaborated.

The initiative also calls for online promotion of the campaign through social media. The campaign structure mirrors the 3 O'Clock Habit, a devotion marking the hour of Christ's crucifixion.
