CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: The Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) has expressed support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program (4PH), which aims to provide affordable housing for low-income families. In a statement, Oro Chamber President Avalyn Cahulogan affirmed the group's commitment to advancing the President's housing agenda. According to Philippines News Agency, the Oro Chamber has launched the Housing and Construction Congress and Expo in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). The event, aimed at addressing the country's housing shortfall, runs from Nov. 12 to 14. DHSUD-10 Assistant Director Rey Niog highlighted the region's housing challenges, including limited availability, high costs, and the need for secure housing solutions. He identified rapid population growth, rising land prices, infrastructure deficiencies, and the prevalence of informal settlements as barriers to aff ordable housing in the region.
