Cagayan de oro: The local government here is proposing new tourism plans to transform rivers into a water sports destination. Barangay Baikingon chair Ronello Gumapac said a five-kilometer stretch of the Bungcalalan River could be used for kayaking activities.

According to Philippines News Agency, Gumapac emphasized that the river's manageable current makes it suitable for kayaking and similar recreational water activities. He mentioned this in an interview on Tuesday, highlighting the potential of the river as a tourist attraction.

Gumapac has submitted his proposal to the City Council's Tourism Committee, which is scheduled to conduct an exploratory visit on December 16. In addition to the river tourism project, a separate ocular inspection is planned for December 10 concerning the proposed city government takeover of the Gardens of Malasag Eco Village in Cugman.
