Kuala lumpur: Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) won two accolades -- "Diversity and Inclusion" and "Sustainable Transportation" -- at the ESGBusiness Awards in Malaysia on Thursday. The ESGBusiness Awards recognizes organizations that set benchmarks in corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, and sustainable growth.
According to Philippines News Agency, as Cebu Pacific grows, the airline aims for affordable travel to also create a positive impact for people and communities. Inclusivity and sustainability remain central to shaping the future of travel, as highlighted by CEB chief marketing and customer experience officer Candice Iyog in a statement on Friday.
CEB has made strides in inclusivity by hiring transgender cabin crew and surpassing global benchmarks for women in leadership. The airline also runs internship programs for neurodiverse students and extends health and travel benefits to same-sex and common-law partners. CEB's workforce spans 31 nationalities, 15 employee groups, and includes people of all genders, faiths, and abilities, which enables the airline to adapt, grow, and deliver for its customers, according to CEB chief human resources officer Felix Lopez.
In the realm of sustainability, Cebu Pacific has modernized its fleet and adopted fuel-efficient practices. Sustainability is integral to Cebu Pacific's growth strategy, as emphasized by CEB vice president for corporate strategy and risk officer Aileen Isidro.
