Manila: Most of Luzon will experience rains caused by the prevailing southwest monsoon (habagat), the weather bureau said Monday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has indicated that occasional rains will affect the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. According to Philippines News Agency, scattered rains and thunderstorms are anticipated over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the rest of Mimaropa, Abra, Benguet, and Antique. These conditions may lead to moderate to heavy rains, posing risks of flash floods or landslides in the affected areas. The Visayas and the rest of Luzon are also expected to experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms influenced by the habagat. In Mindanao, isolated rain showers resulting from localized thunderstorms are predicted to prevail. Meanwhile, Northern Luzon is forecast to have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas. In other parts of the country, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, as stated by PAGASA.
