Pampanga: Utilizing digital intelligence, cyber patrollers from the Regional Intelligence Division-Central Luzon (RID-3) aided in the arrest of a high-profile fugitive, the No. 4 Most Wanted Person at the regional level, in Minalin, Pampanga on Friday. The 56-year-old suspect, known by the alias 'Daddy' and a resident of Barangay San Rafael, Guagua, is facing multiple criminal charges.
According to Philippines News Agency, he is accused of two counts of acts of lasciviousness and two counts of statutory rape. Bail for the lasciviousness cases was set at PHP200,000 per count, while the statutory rape charges are non-bailable. The arrest was made possible through online elicitation and validation techniques by cyber patrollers, which helped a joint team from RID-3 and Station 2 of the Olongapo City Police Office to confirm the suspect's whereabouts.
'Our cyber patrollers are at the frontline of modern policing. Their ability to gather, validate and act on online intelligence is crucial in locating fugitives who attempt to evade justice by hiding in both the physical and digital world," PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr. said in a statement. "This arrest sends a clear message -- technology is our ally in protecting the public and bringing offenders to account."
