Manila: Police in Central Luzon issued a public advisory Wednesday detailing allowed and prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnics for a safe holiday season. Police Regional Office-3 (Central Luzon) (PRO-3) director, Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr., emphasized that the sale, distribution, and use of illegal firecrackers are strictly prohibited. This includes selling permitted types outside designated zones.

According to Philippines News Agency, violators face confiscation of items, fines, and possible criminal charges, as stated by Pe±ones. The list of allowed firecrackers, provided they are not oversized and are sold in authorized zones, includes Baby Rocket, Bawang, El Diablo, Judas Belt (small), Paper Caps, Kwitis, and small Triangulo. Permitted pyrotechnic devices include Fountain, Sparklers, Roman Candle, and Whistle Device.

Prohibited hazardous items have been identified as Piccolo, Watusi, Five Star, Pla-Pla, Giant Bawang, Goodbye Philippines, Boga, and all oversized or imported firecrackers. PRO-3 has urged the public to purchase only from authorized vendors, to refrain from using illegal items, and to report any violations to the police or the 911 hotline.
