CFO Urges Global Filipinos to Invest in Philippines Following Presidential Call

Manila: The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is encouraging Filipinos around the globe to invest in the Philippines and contribute to the country's development, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call during his 4th State of the Nation Address for more economic engagement.

According to Philippines News Agency, CFO Secretary Dante 'Klink' Ang II reaffirmed the agency's support for the President's call to overseas Filipinos. Ang emphasized the importance of reintegrating the Filipino diaspora through investment opportunities in the country. He highlighted the CFO's ongoing efforts to integrate investment resources into its BaLinkBayan platform, an online portal connecting overseas Filipinos through business and donation opportunities.

During his 4th SONA, President Marcos articulated his administration's commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment, which has led to increased business confidence in the Philippines. He noted that foreign firms are registering new businesses due to expedited approval processes, urging the international business community to invest in the Philippines.

Ang expressed that the Filipino diaspora could significantly contribute to the nation's development. He mentioned that the CFO has been aligning with the President's agenda by partnering with various government agencies and private entities to promote entrepreneurial and investment opportunities among overseas Filipinos.

The CFO's BaLinkBayan platform serves as a link for overseas Filipinos to access business and reintegration opportunities. Moreover, the CFO has collaborated with the Philippine Stock Exchange to encourage overseas Filipinos to participate in the local capital market, supporting long-term investment in Philippine-listed companies.

Additionally, the CFO has expanded its financial education campaign, PESO Sense, to strengthen financial literacy among the diaspora. This initiative includes digital tools, webinars, and social media outreach to educate overseas Filipinos and their families on budgeting, saving, investing, and scam awareness.

The CFO is also working with Go Negosyo to promote entrepreneurship among Filipinos abroad, particularly those planning to return and reintegrate into the Philippine economy.
