Malaybalay: The local government of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, announced that 425 children needing medical surgeries have received assistance through a collaborative effort with Tebow Cure Philippines.
According to Philippines News Agency, Tebow Cure Philippines focuses on providing reconstructive plastic and orthopedic surgeries for children with treatable disabilities. Since the previous year, 145 children have benefited from free surgeries, while around 280 others have received additional assistance and treatments.
Peter Cowles, the executive director of Tebow Cure Philippines, stated that the foundation partners with local governments across the country to provide high-quality healthcare services to children. The local government of Malaybalay City has taken the initiative to cover transportation costs to facilitate access to these vital services.
During a recent flag-raising ceremony, Mayor Warren Pabillaran praised Tebow Cure Philippines as an essential partner in their healthcare initiatives. He expressed optimism that future health facilities and programs would further enhance the city's capability to meet the healthcare needs of its residents.
The Tebow Cure Foundation was established by Tim Tebow, an American former professional football quarterback who briefly played in the National Football League. Born in Makati City, Philippines, in 1987 to Baptist missionaries, Tebow has committed to addressing both the medical and emotional needs of children.
The Cure Philippines hospital, located in Davao City, is equipped with 30 beds and three operating rooms to treat conditions such as clubfoot, cleft lip and palate, and disabilities resulting from chronic burn contractures. The hospital also focuses on the emotional and spiritual well-being of its patients and the surrounding communities.
