China Sanctions Teodoro for Speaking Against Its Deception

Manila: Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. on Friday said China's sanctions against him and his family are a usual punishment for those who speak out on its deception. "That is their right. That is truly what they do to those who speak the truth against their deception," he stated.

According to Philippines News Agency, China's punitive measures include barring Teodoro and his immediate family from entering mainland China, as well as its special administrative regions Hong Kong and Macao, and prohibiting Chinese firms from conducting business with them. China's Foreign Ministry accused Teodoro of making "repeatedly irresponsible remarks on China," which they claim have undermined Chinese interests and sabotaged China-Philippine relationships.

Teodoro has been an outspoken critic of Chinese actions in the West Philippine Sea, highlighting aggression and coercive activities. He remains resolute, noting that the people of China and others under Chinese control suffer more severely. He emphasized his commitment to performing his duty and upholding national interests in the face of what he termed as "wickedness" by China.
